As we enter the dog days of summer we're sure to experience a few less then prime days. On those drearier days you'll have to trade your beach blanket for rough fabric or sweaty leather of the couch. You might be sulking if you can't head to the beach and sashay down the boardwalk, talking in the sites and sounds of the midway. Cheer up! There are other ways you can still get in some summer fun. The second beacon of the approaching 2010 summer took place June 19th, 2010, on Surf Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY. The King Neptune of the 2010 parade was musician/performance artist Lou Reed and Queen Mermaid his wife, and fellow musician/performance artist, Laurie Anderson. FEARS was on the route to capture some of the parade’s memorable moments that has begun to take on the spectacle of a Mardi Gras parade. FEARSmag was on the red carpet at the 2010 Tribeca Film festival for the premiere of METROPIA.

METROPIA takes place in a not-so-distant future. The world is running out of oil and the underground train systems have been connected into a gigantic subway network beneath Europe. Whenever Roger from Stockholm enters this system he hears a stranger’s voice in his head. He looks to the mysterious Nina to help him escape the disturbing web of the Metro, but the further they travel, the deeper he’s involved in a dark conspiracy.
