{New York, NY} - The word is out on the street. FEARSmag was attending a special screening of "Hitman" when we ran into the CEO of Latino Review, Kelvin Chavez. As usual, Kelvin was eager to give up the goods on the latest insider info he had. Someone at the screening knew that Kelvin had recently attended a special screening of I AM LEGEND and pressed him to give up the goods on the film. Kelvin remarked that the film was okay, but not as good as he had expected it to be. As a fan of the book, Kelvin said he was disappointed by both some of the plot changes as well as some of the production designs, especially in terms of the CGI creature effects. Overall, he expressed his disappointment in the film not being the epic it should have been, but "what films are ever as good as the books." His prediction, the film should do okay but he didn’t feel it would be the Christmas blockbuster Warner Bros. was hoping for. {UPDATE - 11/20/2007} - As the early news makes the rounds around the web word has come down from Warner Bros that the CEO of Latino Review did not see the entire finished film. In fact, according to a response we received from a source at Warner Bros. Mr. Chavez "claims he viewed the first 30 minutes only." Other sources in the online community claim that it is highly unlikely Mr. Chavez has seen any footage of the film as they were still doing reshoots as late as the week on Nov. 12th. Given the resulting confusion leads one to wonder if there are any other reporting errors going over at Latino Review and question their editorial integrity. If you find any errors let us know! |
