Slasher film to After Dark, gets North American rights to 'Frontier(s)' PDF Print E-mail

{Variety} - After Dark Films has acquired the North American rights to distribute Xavier Gens' "Frontier(s)." Slasher pic tells the tale of a group of thieves who seek refuge in a hotel run by a neo-Nazi family.

Movie will be released theatrically in select markets on May 9 and then on DVD on May 13 by Lionsgate. With the almost simultaneous release plan, After Dark aims to give viewers the choice of watching the film in whatever format they choose without having to wait.

 
Ellen Page enters Raimi's 'Hell' PDF Print E-mail

{Variety} - Ellen Page is set to topline "Drag Me to Hell," a horror film that Sam Raimi will direct as his next film.

Universal Pictures has acquired domestic and some international rights to the film, which begins shooting March 17 in Los Angeles.

{Variety} -  Warner Bros. has teamed with Hong Kong's Emperor Motion Pictures for a rare Chinese remake of a Hollywood movie. Benny Chan will direct.

"Connected" is a retread of New Line's cell phone-based kidnap actioner "Cellular."

It's less than four months before Paramount and Lucasfilm unspool "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," on May 22, but the marketing campaign for the fourth installment of the franchise has yet to crack a whip and offer up footage from the pic.

Slade doing the 'Unthinkable' PDF Print E-mail

{Hollywood Reporter} -  David Slade has signed on to direct the thriller "Unthinkable" for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Kimmel International is handling international rights. It is selling the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.
