{Variety/Sundance} -  United Artists has acquired remake rights to "Timecrimes," the Spanish film that debuted at Sundance over the weekend.

Steve Zaillian is attached to produce.

Nacho Vigalondo wrote and directed the time-travel saga, which was originally titled "Los Cronocrimenes." Magnolia Pictures has U.S. distribution rights to the original pic.

{Variety} - Distrib Shochiku has added martial arts pic "Ichi" to its 2008 line-up, the company announced on Friday.

Helmed by Fumihiko Sori, who also made the 3-D sci-fi toon "Vexille," "Ichi" features a female version of the famed blind swordsman Zatoichi, played in an iconic series by Shintaro Katsu.

{Variety} - The much-hyped but rarely seen monster of "Cloverfield" is getting its own action figure.

Toymaker Hasbro has started taking orders, exclusively on its website, for a toy that will retail for $100 but won't ship until Sept. 30.

{Hollywood Reporter} - Sci Fi Channel has snapped up cable rerun rights to the post-apocalyptic drama "Jericho" from CBS Television Distribution.

The three-year agreement gives Sci Fi rights to the first and second seasons of the series, which includes an exclusive first run in basic cable for the first six months of the deal.

{Hollywood Reporter} - Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko has landed the lead Bond girl role in the next 007 adventure, playing the alluring Camille, producers said Monday.

The actress and top European model recently co-starred with Timothy Olyphant in "Hitman" and opposite Elijah Wood in "Paris, je t'aime."

{Hollywood Reporter} -  aryn Kusama is in negotiations to direct "Jennifer's Body," Fox Atomic's comedic horror movie from "Juno" team Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman.

Megan Fox is attached to star in the project, which tells the story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her "plain Jane" best friend must take drastic measures to protect their small town from the seductive teenager's insatiable appetite for high school boys.
