-Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Oni Press' comicbook series "Maintenance," for McG's Wonderland Sound & Vision to produce and for the helmer to possibly direct.

Joe Ballarini is adapting the project, which follows the exploits of two janitors who work at Terrormax Inc., the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of weapons and doomsday devices to supervillains. As comicbook's conceit goes, if they're not too busy cleaning up toxic spills and performing menial repairs on time machines, they just might save the world.

ImageSynopsis: After his father's death, Kale (SHIA LABEOUF) Brecht becomes sullen, withdrawn, and troubled -- so much so that he finds himself under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest after a run in with the law. His mother, Julie (CARRIE-ANNE MOSS), works night and day to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy. The walls of his house begin to close in on Kale. He becomes a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home towards those of his neighbors, one of which, Mr. Turner (DAVID MORSE), Kale begins to suspect is a serial killer. Aided by his best friend Ronnie (AARON YOO) and his new neighbor Ashley (SARAH ROEMER) the trio try to uncover the truth by their mysterious neighbor.  Could Kale’s suspicions simply be the byproduct of cabin fever and his overactive imagination?

Bennett Walsh ; Cinematography - Rogier Stoffers; Score - Geoff Zanelli; Editing - Jim Page; Production Design - Tom Southwell; Costume Design - Marie-Sylvie Deveau; Special Effects Supervisor - Mickey Kirsten; Visual Effects Supervisor - Howard Berger; Special Effects - KNB EFX Group.

"REEL" Value:         $10.50A totally unexpected and exceptional tween take on the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Rear Window.” D.J. Caruso skillfully orchestras teen anxiety with suburban paranoia and holds it all together with quirky comic relief as seen through a teenagers prospective. The only draw back is the PG-13 keeps the serial killer’s handy work in the shadows, but there are some nice touches in the film’s climax. DISTURBIA is a real cinematic Fun House treat; a tasteful blending of laughs and scares.

SCUM OF THE EARTH UNITE! PDF Print E-mail
INTERVIEWS - Diary of a Mad Music Man
Written by Christopher Mygrant
Tuesday, 10 July 2007

Image Mike Riggs, a.k.a. Riggs, is the founder, lead guitarist, and vocalist for the band Scum of the Earth (although he states he wishes not to be the latter) formed in 2003 after he departed ways with Rob Zombie . S.O.T.E. released its debut album "Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs for the New Millennium" in 2004. Known for the ex-pli-ci-tee of it all, Riggs and Scum push the limits not only lyrically, but visually as well.

Riggs recently spoke with Fears Magazine and offered his thoughts and comments about the band’s latest endeavor (Sleaze Freak) and more.

Fears:
First and foremost, is the follow-up to Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs for the New Millennium (Sleaze Freak) completed?

Riggs: Just about.

Fears:
How long did it take to put it together?

Riggs:
Oh I despise just doing the vocals; I don’t even want to be the singer. I tried to find somebody else to be the singer for the record, but the record company wouldn’t let me use’em. A super rad singer that’s a kind of mix between the dude from Mudvayne and Phil Anselmo. A really good singer.
