{Variety} -  Joel Silver has always wanted one of his movies plastered on the front of a cereal box.

But making films like "Die Hard," "Predator," "Lethal Weapon" or even "The Matrix" trilogy doesn't land the brands.

"I've lived my life as an R-rated man," Silver says.

{Hollywood Reporter} - Straight out of Slamdance, Anchor Bay Entertainment has picked up U.S. distribution rights to Jon Knautz's horror comedy "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer" in a mid-six-figure deal with a theatrical commitment.

{Hollywood Reporter} -  Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," which was to shoot special effects scenes in Vancouver next week, has halted production after the death of co-lead Heath Ledger, according to a local British Columbia craft union.

The $30 million fantasy movie started production in December in London. The Vancouver shoot of interior and bluescreen scenes that was to begin Monday has now been put on hold, Greg Chambers, business manager for craft union ACFC West, told the Vancouver Sun newspaper Thursday.

{Hollywood Reporter} -  Buzz and Woody are about to go 3-D.

Walt Disney Studios plans to debut new digital 3-D versions of Disney-Pixar's "Toy Story" -- the first feature-length computer-animated film -- as well as "Toy Story 2."
